Ooooh baby.
Toybox was one majorly MAJORLY good party...
I'm not at all surprised that Toybox 2008 sold out - I'm just very, very pleased that I managed to get my hands on a ticket! The party starts just a few short hours after the end of the main Mardi Gras party - so the choice was simple... have a few drinks on Oxford Street, or catch head for bed and try and get some sleep. Perhaps surprisingly we opted for the latter - and managed to grab four or five hours sleep between parties - an option that I can now heartily recommend!
Glorious sunshine, fairground rides and thousands of smiley people greeted us as we arrived at Luna Park... with a drink in our hands and a grin on our faces we explored the bars and dancefloors...
I've never seen a laser and light show like this one... the room was pulsing with gorgeous technicolour with what seemed like an endless combination of patterns to suit the music... which was also outstanding! Mixes of songs that you didn't know could be mixed into a dance track had everyone punching the air and screaming for more.
But it gets better... the finale of the night - as it was now approaching 8pm - was when the live PA was hoisted into the air amid what must have been a good tonne or two or confetti and streamers - and we all ended up dancing under her dress.
Throughout the night ice pops, frozen face towels ("don't eat them!"), confetti canons and lollipops were handed out to us as we partied.
It was a breathtaking party that will be etched on my mind for a very long time to come.
loved it!
