The Mardi Gras Launch was scheduled to be held at Moore Park at 4pm but due to the weather the venue and time was changed at short notice to Gilligan's at 5pm...
Not being aware of this we turned up at Moore Park to find it deserted! After phoning the Mardi Gras office I was soon pointed in the right direct and quickly scooted on down!
Unfortunately by the time I reached Gilligan's, the queue to get in was phenomenal and stretched way down Oxford Street. As I could see the venue was already crammed I knew I had no hope of getting in so decided to have a beer (or two... or three) and watch from Stonewall opposite until the queue had gone down.
As often happens - I lost track of time in Stonewall and it must have been an hour or so later that I realised that the launch was over, there no longer a queue in existence and the party had begun so I trotted across the road to join in on the fun... and fun it certainly was!
loved it!
